National General Secretary, BJP

Amit Shah's Introduction
  • Impressed by the abilities and working style of Amit Bhai, the central leadership of BJP elevated him to the post of National General Secretary of the party ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Soon after becoming National General Secretary of the party, he was given charge of politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh which accounts for 80 Lok Sabha seats. It is often said, that the party that wins Uttar Pradesh, wins throne of Delhi. When Amit Bhai took charge of the state, BJP was in a pathetic condition and was struggling for its survival, reflected from the fact that the BJP had polled just 15% votes in 2012 assembly elections.
  • Amit Bhai immediately got down to reviving the party’s fortunes in the state. He broke down the moribund structure of the party and rebuilt it from the scratch. A person known to have a firm grip on poll arithmetic, Amit Bhai reached out to those sections of the society who had never associated themselves with BJP in the past. He also evolved an effective ground level strategy to take on unconventional election methods to counter parties like the SP and the BSP.
  • Thanks to Amit Bhai’s social engineering, ground level strategy and Shri.Narendra Modi’s popularity, BJP created history and won a massive 73 of the 80 seats in the state. The Party got 42.6% of the total votes, which is highest ever, BJP’s vote share in Uttar Pradesh.
