BJP National President, Shri Amit Shah released a book titled " Story of a Guru" - The Biography on HH Jagadguru Shri Shri Shri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji at Sri Adichunchangiri Kshetra, Nagamangala, Mandya Distt (Karnataka). Shri Shah said that it is a matter of great fortune for him that he had the opportunity to salute the holy land of Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Mutt for the first time. It is said that this is the place of Lord Shiva's penance, this holy land is also connected with Mahayogi Machhendranath and Yogi Gorakhnath ji, the party president recalled. Since then the great tradition has continued with Dr. Balagangadharanatha Swami ji Maharaj and now revered Nirmalanandanatha ji has taken it forward, he said. Shri Shah said that for the first time in his life, he experienced the energy flowing through this tradition in providing spiritual advancement along with service, health, education to the people. The BJP President said that in many countries, advancement and welfare of the society relies solely on government. Many countries turned themselves into welfare state, but if there is any country where the process of making Welfare Society is going on for years, it is India. Because our monasteries, temples and religious institutions have always leapt way ahead of the government in the service of the society, the party president stated. This is the reason why India appears to be moving forward in many areas today, he said. Shri Shah said that on the basis of eight 'A' (Anña, Akshar, Arogya, Adhyatm, Ashram, Anukampa, Aranya. etc.) the Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Mutt has proved to be a lighthouse in the lives of many people. He said that this great monastery alone has done much more work in the field of health and education than that of a small country. He said that the monks of this mutt have so engrossed themselves in the service of the society under the guidance of Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji that more than 464 educational institutions (with more than 1,35,000 students and 1800 faculty) and more than 2,000 hospitals have come up within few years. Commemorating Nadaprabhu Hira Kempegowda, a follower of this monastery, the BJP President said that the city of Bangalore was founded by Kempegowda. Recalling that when Shri Kempe Gowda came from Vijaynagar with the idea of settling a city, people asked him what kind of city he wanted, he replied that he wanted to establish a city which can become a religious centre. It appears, Shri Shah said, he might have been inspired by the tradition of this mutt. He said religion has been placed at the top among the four Purushartha of Dharm, Arth, Kaam and Moksha in our scriptures, because all three Purusharthas can be earned from Dharma that is why Kempe Gowda ji propagated the concept of religion as the centre point while settling a city. Shri Shah said that today many Hindu religious leaders, monasteries and temples are coming forward to push the spiritual progress of people as well as to improve quality of life and solve the problems of their life. He said that it is a pleasant coincidence that at present we have a government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party government has succeeded in restoring the Indian culture by becoming an ambassador across the world. The BJP president said that for many years, many religious leaders have tried to propagate yoga abroad. He said that the Dharmacharyas had passed a resolution in Bangalore in 2011, that a Yoga Day should be celebrated to give it a global recognition. He said that when Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India and addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the first time, he said there that our sages have invented a great tradition which can make life easier and healthier without medicine. Besides it also help unite our soul with the universal soul only by concentrating on the soul, mind, intellect and body and the name of this method is - Yoga. He said that more than 170 countries of the world have extended their support to Yoga and today for three years, the world celebrates Yoga Day on June 21, in a way acknowledging our culture. Shri Shah said that here the book "Story of a Guru" on the biography of Pujyapad Guru Balagangadharanatha Swami Ji Maharaj has been released, in which many incidents of the life of Pujya Swami ji Maharaj have been cited. He said that it is the tradition of India that millions of people accept the message from the life of the people living for society and imbibe that message in their lives. He said that the book 'Story of a Guru' will motivate millions of people to follow the path of service and religion, and for many years to come, people will be inspired from the life of the holy Balagangadharanatha Swami ji Maharaj. He expressed his gratitude to revered Swami Nirmalananda Nathji for publishing the inspirational book and for unprecedented respect bestowed upon him by the monastery.
